100 rupees for women to participate in BJP rally. Journalist beaten up for questioning

Journalist beaten up by BJP workers for questioning allegations that women were paid to attend Amit Shah's rally. Raghav Trivedi of the online media Molitics was beaten up by BJP workers. Raghav also said that the attackers mistook him for being a Muslim. The incident took place in Rae Bareli, UP. Raghav, who was injured in the attack, was later admitted to the hospital. When asked about the women who came to the rally, they said that they had paid Rs 100 to participate and did not know who Shah was. When asked about the allegation by BJP workers, Raghav said they beat him up, The Wire reported.

Raghav's words are, 'Initially she denied the allegation. A group forcibly took me to a secluded place and asked me to delete the recording after telling me that they had the recording of what the women said. When I refused, they started assaulting me… I appealed to the police and bystanders for help, but no one intervened. He lost consciousness due to the beating. “I was in the hospital when I regained consciousness,” Raghav told The Indian Express.
Raghav also said that the attackers thought he was a Muslim. 'He was repeatedly telling me not to beat him. There were about 50 people. They attacked him by calling him 'Mullah'
