After Kochi city, Thiruvananthapuram also gets 5G service. Starting Wednesday, Jio users in Thiruvananthapuram will get a Jio welcome offer to use unlimited data at 1 Gbps+ speed at no extra cost.
Jio has invested Rs 6000 crore for 5G network in Kerala. Jio is the only company to deploy a 5G network that is not dependent on the 4G network. With standalone 5G, Jio will also offer services such as low latency connectivity, machine-to-machine communication, 5G voice, edge computing and network slicing.
Customers do not need to change their SIM cards to get 5G services. The 5G supported phone must have a postpaid connection or a basic prepaid recharge of Rs 239 or above. Also, if the customer stays in a 5G coverage area for a longer period of time, they will be eligible for the Jio Welcome Offer.
Jio’s True 5G services were launched in Kochi on 20th of this month.
