Uttar Pradesh: Court orders to arrest former BJP MP and actress Jaya Prada. The court of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh has issued an arrest warrant against the actor.
He has been ordered to be arrested and produced in court before March 6. The tough stance of the court came after the court did not appear for the hearing of the two cases registered in connection with the 2019 Lok Sabha election violations.
Despite issuing non-bailable warrants seven times in the case, the police could not produce them in court. The police informed the court that Jayaprada is evading arrest and all her mobile numbers have been switched off.
Judge Shobhit Bansal judged that Jayaprada had gone absconding and ordered his arrest. He has been ordered to be arrested and produced in court before March 6.
In the 2019 elections, Jayaprada, who was a BJP candidate in Rampur, lost to Samajwadi Party candidate Azam Khan.
In 2004 and 2009, he became Rampur MP on SP ticket but was later expelled.
