An elderly woman caught in the current hung from a tree branch for 10 hours to escape. Chandramati (79) of Ottapalam South Panamanna Pookatukursi in Palakkad district survived the accident with courage.
Since it was the beginning of Karkitaka month, Chandramati went to the stream near her house at six o’clock on Tuesday morning to take a dip. They were rescued at 4 pm.
