The Thrissur Pooram crisis over the rent of the Thrissur Pooram Exhibition City has been resolved. The solution came in a meeting called by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The solution came when the government announced that the rent for the Pooram demonstration city would be 42 lakhs. It was also agreed that the ground rent of the exhibition city should not be increased.

Representatives of Cochin, Thiruvampadi and Paramekkav Devaswom, ministers K. Rajan, K. Radhakrishnan and R. Bindu participated in the meeting.

The Thiruvampadi and Paramekkav Devaswams thanked the Chief Minister after the crisis was resolved.

At the same time, the reason for the crisis is that the ground rent which was charged last year for Pooram was 39 lakhs to 2.20 crores this year.

Earlier, Ministers K. Rajan and K. Radhakrishnan held discussions with Devaswom Board representatives and Devaswom officials, but no decision was reached.

The Cochin Devaswom Board took the stand that the amount was increased by the court. Later, the Chief Minister intervened in the matter.
