China Builds A Second Bridge on Pangong Tso : MEA confirms

Center confirms report that China is building a second bridge over Pangong Lake in eastern Ladakh. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the second bridge over Pangong Lake will be built next to the one built by China earlier this year. Arindam Bagchi, a spokesman for the Union Ministry of External Affairs, said the bridge was being built in an area illegally occupied by China and that such actions could never be justified. Baghdad said yesterday that he was closely monitoring reports that China was building a new bridge. He said talks were ongoing with China at the diplomatic and military level and would continue. Satellite images of China’s second bridge over Pangong Lake have been released. The bridge is believed to have facilitated the movement of Chinese troops to eastern Ladakh. The bridge is being constructed at a distance of 20 km from the Line of Control. The satellite image was tweeted by Damien Simon, a researcher who monitors the movements of different countries. This has now been confirmed by the Center. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has come under fire after the Union Foreign Ministry confirmed China’s construction. ‘No compromise is possible on India’s national security.
