China has got its own brand to compete with that of Tesla Motors. Chinese startup company Nio has unveiled its model, ES8 all electric SUV. Well, ES8 has got 7 seats, while it is powered by a 70 kilowatt hour liquid cooled battery pack and cell. Providing a 2,000 charge lifecycle, NIO ES8 is capable of achieving 500 kilometers under regulated conditions upon full charge; whereas according to the European Driving Cycle (NEDC), the vehicle runs 355 kilometers. The model takes just 4.4 seconds to reach from 0 – 100 kmph. At the same time, the ES8 produces 480 kilowatts of power as well as a peak torque of 840Nm.
Priced at $67,765, NIO ES8 happens to be just about half of which Tesla’s Model X costs.
