A policeman extorted lakhs of rupees from a woman on the pretext of buying her a car. The complaint has been lodged against Binukumar of Konni station.
The accused initially demanded Rs 13.50 lakhs to buy a vehicle and later he mortgaged the car and borrowed another Rs 10 lakh from the woman. Apart from this, he had swindled money from five women after getting posted at Konni station.
He extorted Rs 2 lakh from a widow and Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000 from others. Allegations were made against him even when he was working at Perunadu station.
