CPI State Secretary Kanam Rajendran passed away. He died in a private hospital in Kochi. Kanam Rajendran’s foot was amputated recently. Due to health problems, he was away from the active activities of the party for a long time.
In a village called Kanam in Kottayam district, V.K. He was born on 10 November 1950 as the son of Parameswaran Nair. Kanam entered politics through student politics in the 70s.

He was elected to the 7th and 8th Kerala Legislative Assemblies from Vazhur. CPI Member Kanam Rajendran was the Member of Legislative Assembly from Vazhur Constituency from 1982 to 1991.
He was also the State Secretary of AITUC. He became the State General Secretary of AITUC in 2006 and became a member of the CPI National Executive in 2012.
In 2015, he was also elected as the Secretary of the Kerala State Committee of the Communist Party of India.
