Full services online by local authorities in New Year; K-Smart from January 1, first in the country

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that in the new year, all services through local self-government bodies will be available online.

K-Smart, the flagship project of the state government, will become operational on January 1, 2024, and services from the local self-government bodies will be available to the public in a timely manner without going to the offices.

The Chief Minister also informed that the official inauguration will be held at 10.30 am at Kochi Gokulam Convention Center.

In the first phase, K-Smart will be deployed in all municipal corporations and municipalities in Kerala. The service will be extended to Gram Panchayats on April 1.

This is the first time in the country that such a system is being established where all the public services of the local self-government bodies are available online.

The Chief Minister said that through this, the efficiency and transparency of local institutions can be increased, corruption can be eliminated and services can be provided to the citizens quickly.
