Even before the freshness of last day’s gold smuggling news fades away, a similar instance was reported from Kozhikode International Airport. Customs Department from Karipur International Airport caught Jithin, a Kannur native, for trying to smuggle gold worth 30 lakh. He was trying to smuggle gold by hiding them inside the undergarments.
Last day too, Customs Department caught an attempt to smuggle gold through Kannur International Airport. The department has arrested 4 persons in connection with an attempt to smuggle gold worth more than 2.5kg. All of them arrived at Kannur Airport through charted flight.
