As was informed by the HDMI Forum, HDMI 2.1 is officially here. The latest version of HDMI standard supports playing 4K video at 120Hz and 8K video at 60Hz. Well, the major highlight is that it even supports 10K videos as well. That said, the HDMI 2.1 might not make an instant impact across the users, as most of the devices support video formats up to 4K only these days.
It was in CES 2017, which the new standard was announced. HDMI 2.1 is now ready, and has even been released to OEMs. The movement is expected to spur the production of next gen devices.
