Kochi: Actor Mohanlal said that he did not buy dowry when he got married and there will be no such thing when his daughter gets married. Mohanlal opened up about his views on dowry while talking about the promotion of the movie Neer.
Mohanlal was responding to the question of what is his opinion on the practice of dowry as a father of a girl. “I did not buy dowry, I got married. There will be no such thing for my daughter to get married, it is not right.’
‘There is a conflict within me as someone who speaks against this in many films. As an actor, I feel sad when I hear such a thing,” added Mohanlal. Mohanlal added that the film Neer discusses such crimes in the society.
Meanwhile, the film will release on December 21 as a Christmas release. This movie belongs to the court room drama category. The film is produced by Anthony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas.
Shanti Mayadevi, who played the role of a lawyer in Drishyam 2, has written the screenplay for Neer. The film is directed by Jeethu Joseph.
