‘He made a mistake’; SFI leader released on bail for disrespecting Gandhi statue

Kochi: A student who disrespected the statue of Mahatma Gandhi was arrested. Police recorded the arrest of SFI student leader Adeen Naser and released him on station bail.

The student gave a statement to the police that he made a mistake and apologized for the incident through social media. Meanwhile, the college authorities suspended Adeen Naser in the incident.

The picture was taken with a cooling glass on the face of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in the college.

This video was circulated on social media. The video shows the young man putting a cooling glass on the face of the Gandhi statue and then taking a picture.

After the video went viral, KSU and BJP came forward against the SFI leader. KSU had lodged a complaint against the SFI leader.

The complaint was filed by KSU unit secretary AI Amin. The police registered a case with this.
