Highest ever Spike of 5242 COVID19 Cases in last 24 hrs ; 157 Death

NEW DELHI: With the country entering the Fourth Phase Lockdown, there has been an increase in the number of Covid casualties. In the last 24 hours, 5242 people have been confirmed in the country. This is the highest number of cases in India in a single day. In 24 hours, 157 people died.

According to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Health, 96,169 people have been diagnosed with the disease so far. The total death toll was 3029.

The growth in the number of sufferers is alarming, even though the closure has reached the fourth stage. The fourth phase of the lockdown comes with additional concessions to restore economic activity.

Maharashtra has reported the highest number of cases with 33053 deaths and 1198 deaths. Gujarat is followed by Tamil Nadu and Tamil Nadu. Delhi is the fourth most affected.
