Hyderabad: Muslim girl as ABVP candidate. The ABVP nominated a Muslim girl as a candidate for the student union elections being held in Central University of Hyderabad.
A Muslim girl was made a candidate for the presidency in the union elections.
Sheikh Ayesha, a native of Visakhapatnam and a research student of chemistry, will enter the arena for ABVP.
This is the first time that ABVP is fielding a Muslim student for the post of president. ABVP also announced the names of other candidates.
ABVP is contesting in alliance with Seva Lal Vidyarthi Dal. Three of the nine-member panel are women.
PhD student Muhammad Ateeq Ahmed will also compete for the SFI-ASA-TSF alliance. The election is on November 9.
