In September 2020, Vellani was cast as the titular character Kamala Khan in the upcoming American television miniseries ‘Ms. Marvel’ (2022), marking her onscreen debut. She will also reprise the role in the upcoming American superhero film ‘The Marvels’, set to release in 2023. She is the first Muslim girl to play a superhero in MCU.
