The India – China border issues seems to be hitting new heights, as India has warned China that the deployment of Chinese forces at the border to alter the current situation along the Line of Control would invite serious consequences. Threatening China of inviting an adverse impact on the broader bilateral relationship, India has called for an end to the Chinese construction in eastern Ladakh.
Indian Ambassador to China Vikram Misri said that the actions of the Chinese military at the border have had a serious impact on the credibility of the bilateral relationship. Asking the Chinese to take a closer look at the relationship between the countries, Misri maintained that the bilateral relations wouldn’t progress, unless peace exists at the border.
Asking China to end its efforts to curb Indian forces from patrolling, Vikram Misri said that China’s claim over the Galwan Valley cannot be accepted. Maintaining that such exaggerated claims would escalate the conflict at the border, rather than alleviating them, Misri however said that the discussions were ongoing, including at the military level.
