It is reported that Tushar Vellapalli may become NDA candidate. Kottayam seat for BDJS!

There are some reports in Kottayam constituency related to the Lok Sabha elections. It has been agreed in principle that LDF Kerala Congress M leader and sitting MP Thomas Chazhikkadan can be contested. The names of Francis George and MP Joseph are emerging from the UDF. After this, the candidate selection process is also going on in NDA. Another information is that Tushar Vellappally may become the NDA candidate. In the last election, Kerala Congress leader PC Thomas was the NDA candidate in Kottayam. PC Thomas is currently with the Kerala Congress Joseph faction. With this, it was reported that BJP may take over the constituency.

It is understood that the understanding in the NDA is to give the seat to the BDJS to take full advantage of the influence that the SNDP has in Kottayam. State president Tushar Vellappally, who is also the convener of NDA, will be contesting for BDJS. A discussion has also been held between BJP and BDJS leaders. BDJS was also able to put up a tough fight in the assembly elections in Etumanur. Vaikat will be an asset to NDA if SNDP gets full support. And the arrival of PC George is likely to reflect in the Christian majority area.
