In line with yesterday, today, Kerala registered a total of 632 new Covid positive cases. Incidentally, this happened to be the biggest single day spike that Kerala has registered till date. The number of samples that turned negative stands at 196. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 9,553, while the state’s total active cases have reached 4,880. A total of 4,636 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 96 are from overseas, while 76 came from other states.
The number of case through transmission has gone past 400 mark, and registered 432, in the past 24 hours. Out of the cases through transmission, 37 remain untraced. 9 health workers, 9 DSC officers, have been tested positive for the disease. The state has also recorded 1 more Covid death. The samples of Idukki Rajakkad native Valsamma, who succumbed to death, turned positive.

Right now, 1,84,601 people are under observation, with the number of institutional quarantine standing at 4,989. Today, Kerala has tested a total of 16,444 samples. With this, the total number of routine samples tested by the state, stands at 2,60,356. The results of 7,485 test results are yet to come. Today, a total of 602 people have been admitted to hospitals. Kerala, right now, has a total of 234 hotspots.
