Kerala cycle polo player Nitha Fathima dies in Nagpur; It is alleged that facilities were not provided

Kerala’s national cycle polo player Nitha Fatima (10) died in Nagpur. She is a native of Alappuzha Ambalapuzha Kakkazham. He reached Nagpur on December 20 to participate in the National Sub-Junior Cycle Polo. Fathima collapsed after vomiting last night and was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. Teams of two associations went from Kerala to participate in the National Sub-Junior Cycle Polo Championship. Fatima was a team member of the Kerala Cycle Polo Association. Fatima had been vomiting continuously since last night. It is reported that he collapsed and died while the doctors were trying to give an injection at the hospital. The body is kept in Nagpur. She will be released to his relatives after post-mortem. Fatima’s father returned to Nagpur.

Although it is an organization registered with the Sports Council, the team including Fatima came to the competition through a court order. However, there were allegations that the National Federation did not provide accommodation and food facilities to them. It is reported that the position of the federation was that the court order was only to compete and no other facilities would be provided. The team was staying in temporary facilities in Nagpur. At the same time, Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman said that the complaint of not getting accommodation and food facilities is being investigated.
