The body of the elderly woman, who had been missing for a few days, was found in a decomposed state on the road to the backyard a little away from her house. The dead body of K. Bhavani (75) was found at Parassery house, Thakaraparam, Parassery, Madavoor. The meat parts were found eaten by stray dogs. All that was left was the skull and bones. The body was identified by the clothes it was wearing and the gold necklace around its neck.
They were not at home since Friday. The people at home did not search because they thought it would be at the house of their youngest son, who lives a kilometer away. On Wednesday, the youngest son found out about his disappearance when he reached his brother's house in search of his mother. When he came to know that he was not at his relative's house, he informed the Pallikal police in the evening.
The remains of the dead body were found during an investigation conducted by a relative and a neighbor at 7 am on Thursday. Pallikal then informed the police. The family living near where the body was found had not been home during the day for a week. This also led to the delay in the disclosure of the incident.
