PM Modi, British PM Rishi Sunak meet for the first time at G20 Summit in Bali

In a historic moment, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian-origin British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak met for the first time at the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia on Tuesday. The meeting came after PM Modi met US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron before the start of summit.

Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) shared a picture of the two prime ministers having a conversation on the sidelines of the ongoing G20 Summit in Indonesia.

“Prime Ministers @narendramodi and @RishiSunak in conversation during the first day of the @g20org Summit in Bali,” the PMO said.

It should be noted that PM Modi was one of the first world leaders to congratulate Rishi Sunak on his election as British PM on October 25.

Rishi Sunak also remains keen on having good ties with India and has already expressed desire of strengthening security, defence and economic partnership between the two countries.
