Restrictions on Bursting of Firecrackers in the State; Till 10pm on Diwali and 12.30pm on Christmas and New Year

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has imposed restrictions on the time for bursting firecrackers during Diwali, Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The government has issued an order restricting the bursting of firecrackers to a maximum of two hours between 8 and 10 pm for Diwali and 11.55 pm to 12.30 pm for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The order was based on the judgment passed by the Green Tribunal. According to the order, only green firecrackers should be sold during the celebrations and district magistrates and district police chiefs should ensure these things.
