The suicide of a student named Rohit Vemula was the news that created a lot of buzz in Kerala. Rohit was a student of Hyderabad Central University. The left wing leaders and thinkers claimed that Rohitan was mentally tortured by the right wing students and teachers. The left-wing organizations had organized large-scale protests, including in Kerala. Now there is a definite turning point in the case.
Rohit is a Dalit student. Rohit got admission in Hyderabad Central University through reservation. Earlier, student organizations including ABVP had raised the issue that Rohit is not actually a Dalit and that the SC certificate was forged. Now the police report confirms this claim.
The police say that Rohit is not really a Dalit, the SC certificate was forged and he committed suicide when his true caste was revealed. This report has now been submitted to the court. With this, all the accused in the case, including the BJP leaders, have been acquitted. The vice chancellor was accused in this case.
Now PM Arshaw is coming to register a protest in this case. He is the state secretary of SFI. He is accused in many criminal cases. He is also accused in a case of racially abusing a colleague.
