Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Prince’ earns nearly Rs 100 cr in pre-release business

Sivakarthikeyan will be next seen on big screens in the bilingual drama ‘Prince’, directed by Anudeep. The film is heading to theatres on October 21.

As per the latest reports, Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Prince’ has earned almost Rs 100 crores in pre-release business. The digital and satellite rights of the film have been sold for around Rs 40 crores. The theatrical rights of the Tamil version have reportedly earned Rs 45 crores, while the audio rights have been sold for Rs 4 crores.

The bilingual has earned Rs 90 crores so far, while the theatrical rights of the Telugu version take the film to go past Rs 100 crores in the pre-release business.

‘Prince’ will therefore be Sivakarthikeyan’s first film to reach Rs 100 crores in pre-release business. Previously his films ‘Doctor’ and ‘Don’ have grossed over Rs 100 crores at the box office, as a result, the bankable actor’s next release got great reception among the distributors.

Ukrainian actress Maria Ryaboshapka plays the female lead opposite Sivakarthikeyan in ‘Prince’. Sivakarthikeyan reportedly plays a teacher, who falls in love with a foreigner, and the film has been shot in various locations in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

The film is expected to be a family entertainer which will be produced by Narayan Das Narang, Suniel Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, and Suresh Babu jointly under their banners of Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, Suresh Productions and Shanthi Talkies.
