Sri Lanka cricketer Shehan Madushanka detained for possessing drugs

Sri Lankan cricketer Sheehan Madusanka is the subject of much debate amongst the Sri Lankan cricketers, rather than the reputation of Colombo. The actor was placed under two-week remand for possession of drug paraphernalia. The actor is also being sued for violating lockdown rules. Shehan was arrested while traveling through the Sri Lankan city of Pannala with a friend as the lockdown was announced in Sri Lanka. Police seized two grams of heroin from Sheehan.

Police responded to media reports that the heroin was seized from a cricketer who was traveling in a car with his friend on Sunday. Sheehan has played ODIs and Twenty20s for Sri Lanka. He made his debut for Sri Lanka in January 2018 but has only played three international matches due to injuries. The wicket-keeper claimed a hat-trick in the one-day international against Bangladesh.

The 25-year-old has played 14 first class, 19 List A and 17 Twenty20 matches in Sri Lankan domestic cricket. The star has not played since February 2018 due to repeated injuries. Sri Lanka has been on lockdown since March 20 as there is a threat of violence. The country has tight restrictions, including the movement of vehicles. The Sri Lankan cricketer took to the road with his vehicle. Sri Lanka has reported 1141 cases of violence so far, of which nine have lost their lives.
