The police have arrested three people in the case of stabbing to death Abdul Jalil (45), owner of a fancy shop in Suratkal Kattipala in front of the shop. 12 people including two women are in police custody. Shailesh Pujari (21) from Krishnapura who directly participated in the murder, Savin Kanchan (24) from Hejamati and Pawan (Pachu, 23) from Kattipalla who helped them to escape were arrested.
Two men came to Abdul Jalil’s shop around 8:30 on Saturday night and killed Jalil and escaped with the help of Pawan. Shailesh and Savin, who committed the murder, were hired goons from Surathkal, police said. Various murder cases have been registered against them in 2021. To prevent further violence related to the murder, a curfew has been declared in Suratkal, Bajpe, Cavour and Panambur police station limits till 6 am on December 29.
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner N. Sasikumar said that the reason behind the murder is being investigated. After producing the accused in the court, the police took them into custody.
