The 10th session of the Kerala Legislative Assembly started with the Governor’s policy announcement speech. After reading only the last paragraph, Governor Arif Muhammad Khan returned after concluding his speech within a minute. After the address, the governor started the speech by saying that he was only reading the last paragraph and ended it quickly. Elsewhere, the governor was received by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Speaker AN Shamsir. The Chief Minister was received with a bouquet of flowers, but the Governor was not ready to smile on his face or shake his hand. He then quickly reached the speaker’s desk and joined in the national anthem.
He would say a few introductory words and conclude his speech by reading only the last paragraph. There was severe criticism of the central government’s discrimination. But the governor accepted the speech sent by the government. The Governor read out the criticism against the central government in the policy announcement. The challenge to the government’s spectacular achievements is the central government. Central policy is a challenge for the federal system. Borrowing restrictions caused a major crisis. There was even a situation of approaching the Supreme Court. Entitled grant and assistance is being withheld.
