Women doctors should not go out at night. Do not go to isolated, poorly lit or sparsely populated areas

After the PG doctor was raped and killed, the principal of Assam Medical College came out with a controversial order.
The order states that women employees and students should not go to areas that are isolated, have no light or are understaffed. It is also advised to go out of the hostel at night for essential purposes only after informing in advance. Those staying in the hostel must strictly follow the rules and regulations of the hostel and the college. Emergency numbers should always be kept in the phone. In case of any problem, the Chairman or members of the Gender Harassment Committee should be informed immediately.

On the other hand, the college principal explained that such an order was issued keeping in mind the safety of doctors, students and other employees. The brutal murder took place at RG Kar Medical College Hospital, a government hospital in Kolkata. The body of the female doctor was lying half-naked inside the seminar hall of the college. He was injured all over his body.
