Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 to Debut in August Boasting Leica-Tuned Quad Cameras

Xiaomi has officially announced the upcoming release of the Mix Fold 3, the first device manufactured on a new production line with enhanced design elements for increased foldable body durability.

Optical Full-Focus Quad-Cam Setup

Xiaomi collaborated with Leica to develop an “optical full-focus quad-cam setup” for the Mix Fold 3. This camera system features four cameras and aims to provide users with an exceptional photography experience.

Inaugural Device of Xiaomi’s New Smart Factory

Xiaomi’s President, Lui Weibing, disclosed the launch of a new smart factory in Beijing, with the Mix Fold 3 being the first product off the production line. The factory’s advanced technology promises improved build quality and durability.

Camera and Processor

Rumors indicate that the Mix Fold 3 will sport a 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It may be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for best-in-class performance.

Battery and Charging Capabilities

The Mix Fold 3 is expected to support 67W fast charging, reducing the time spent connected to the charger. The leaked information also suggests a 4,800mAh battery and 50W wireless charging capability.

Advancements from the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2

Building on the success of its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is expected to bring even more advancements to the table. As a refresher, the Mix Fold 2 boasts a 6.56-inch AMOLED exterior display with a resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels, a 21:9 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. On the inside, an 8.02-inch display with a resolution of 1914 x 2160 pixels and a brightness of 1300 nits offers an immersive visual experience.

In terms of optics, there is a triple-camera setup that includes a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor. There is a 20MP selfie camera up front. Lastly, running the show is a 4,500mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.
