MC Chacko is one of the familiar faces in Malayalam cinema. He is known as MC Kattappana in the movie. He is a native of Kattappana Mangat, Idukki. Malayalees have been seeing him in movies for the last several decades. But only now Malayalees know his name.
The sad news is that he has passed away. His age is 75 years. It is known that he died due to old age related diseases. He was under treatment for a long time.
He has done professional plays in more than 7000 venues. In the year 1977, he acted in the play Punya Theertha Pari, presented by Attingal Desabhimani Theatres. This is how he started his acting career. He has also appeared in many films.
He has acted in Mammootty films like Gashma, Pagal and Palunk. Apart from this, he was also very active in serial field. He has played remarkable characters in about 25 serials. He won the State Government Award for Best Actor in the year 2007. He won the government award in the year 2007 for his performance in Kollam Arena's drama Naikko Kothiinna Sodhi. Apart from this, he has also won the Abhinaya Shri Award of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy in the year 2014. His funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9:30 am at Kattappana St. George Church Cemetery.
