In an attempt to underline its social commitment, Vodafone has partnered with Kerala Police, to track child pilgrims, who gets missed in Sabarimala. Using the RFID tags to do the same, Vodafone officials maintained that all they wanted was a worry free pilgrimage to Sabarimala. According to the plan devised by them, an RFID tag would be given to all children under 14 years of age. Being given in Pamba, the tags will ensure safe journey for the children till they returned back to Pamba, from Sannidhanam.
The RFIG tag will contain important details regarding the child, such as name, guardian’s name, contact number etc. Any child found lost in Sabarimala, would be taken care by the Police officials. However, the role of Vodafone is in giving accurate information about the kid’s location, and sending the same to the registered mobile number. Kerala Police and Vodafone are planning to distribute the cards till Makara Vilakku.
