In a mysterious incident, a 23-year-old man died last night after a couple of days when he drank juice offered by his lover. The deceased, Sharon Raj, a Parassala native, along with his friend had went to his lover’s house on October 14.
Sharon asked his friend to wait outside and he went inside her house alone. When he returned, Sharon told his friend that she offered him a juice and reacted to it by the means of vomiting. He asked his friend to take him home immediately.
When Sharon’s mother came home in the afternoon, she found him lying in an exhausted condition. He was rushed to Taluk hospital and then to the medical college. However, he was discharged at night.
The next morning he developed some sores in his mouth making him difficult to even drink water. He was admitted to the hospital again. The medical college in its medical report on October 17 stated that Sharon’s kidneys and other internal organs were not functioning properly. Following this, he was subjected for dialysis thrice.
Sharon was then shifted to ventilator and his life could not be saved.
According to the doctors, Sharon had allegedly consumed acid-like liquid leading to the decaying of the internal organs. The youth had told his relatives that he consumed some kashayam and juice from his lover’s house.
