The Karnataka state government has decided to name a satellite after Puneeth Rajkumar’s name which will be launched into orbit between November 15 and December 31.
Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme PM Narendra Modi has decided to launch 75 satellites which are prepared by students. A KGS3 satellite has been developed by the students who are studying at a government school in Bengaluru at the cost of Rs 1.90 crores.
Minister for Science and Technology, C N Ashwath Narayan on Friday said, “We have named the satellite as Puneeth in memory of the late actor who has passed away in last October.”
Puneeth Rajkumar’s who was also awarded Karnataka Ratna for his philanthropic works and his contribution to Kannada cinema and doctorate was given by University of Mysore posthumously.
