New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said the country’s capital is ready to lift the lockdown . He said this at a press conference announcing concessions to industries and services as the nationwide lockdown progresses to phase three.

It’s time to re-open Delhi. Lockdown cannot continue in the face of financial crisis. Government revenue has fallen significantly. How to proceed? “We need to move on with life in the face of coronavirus outbreaks,” he said. Delhi has been prepared to ease restrictions on areas other than containment zones. Delhi is well equipped with hospitals and inspection kits.

The central government will be requested to seal all containment zones. The rest should be declared a green zone. Shops should be allowed to open in single- and double-digit order. Kejriwal said that after the lockdown was fully cleared, Delhi would be ready to deal with the increasing number of people infected with the virus.

Private firms in Delhi will allow 33 per cent of its employees to work. Companies that work in IT hardware and manufacturing of essential materials can work. E-commerce of essential commodities, IT services, call centers, godowns and private security firms will also be permitted.

Major markets such as Connaught Place and Khan Market will remain closed. Here you can open the shop selling essential items. They can be open to stationery shops, stand-alone shops, and non-residential shops in residential areas. Technicians, electricians and domestic workers can work.

No public transportation is allowed. But both private and two-wheeler vehicles can be lined up. The four-wheeler can accommodate two people without a driver. Only two-wheelers are allowed. The chief minister said that 50 marriages and 20 funerals would be held.
