As the state is experiencing a staggering number of new covid cases, CM Pinarayi Vijayan said that NRIs should be cautious and try to not catch the virus, while travelling by airplane. CM said that the danger of ‘Super Spreading’ – A single person spreading the virus to several persons – is looming around the state of Kerala, as more and more NRIs have started coming to Kerala. Under the circumstance, the CM urged that all expatriates coming from countries have to undertake Covid test.
Stating that the test certificate must be kept in hand and the covid test must have been conducted within 72 hours before the travel. All passengers who haven’t undergone tests abroad must have to undergo rapid antibody testing upon arrival at the airport, irrespective of the symptoms. Upon showing positive in the test must, one would then undergo RTPCR/ Gene Express/TrueNat test. However, one thing which everyone should have to follow is to undertake a mandatory quarantine period of 14 days. Besides, all those who come from other countries, are required to wear the N95 mask, face shield and gloves. Occasionally a sanitizer should be used to ensure that the hands are sterile.

For those who come from UAE, carrying a covid certificate is mandatory, as UAE conducts mandatory antibody test. As far as people coming from Oman and Bahrain, they must have to wear N95 mask, face shield and gloves, besides applying sanitizers whenever necessary.
