Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur has decided to conduct its semester examinations, despite the presence of Covid fear. The University is planning to conduct the Second Professional MBBS Practical Exam.  The decision is taken by the University, despite the fact that several areas of the state are still termed as hotspots. Students and parents have raised concerns over the decision of the University, as they fear this move to intensify the spread of the disease.

Even amidst the protests, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mohanan Kunnummal informed that there would be no change in the second year MBBS practical exams which is scheduled to commence from 6th of this month.  While commenting on the examination, he opined that practical examinations would not cost as much time as theory exams. He also ensure that those who are unable to attend this session of the examinations, would be arranged another special day for attending the practical examination.

Currently, more than half of the University’s practical exams have been completed. The rest are scheduled to be conducted between 6th and 28th of this month. The decision was taken at a meeting of principals of various medical colleges in the state. According to the schedule, students would be divided into several batches and be prepared for examinations in their respective medical colleges. However, it must be added that the Kerala Technological University had announced that it has postponed all exams scheduled to take this month.
