Minister VS Sunil Kumar, while addressing the media said that Kochi is facing a serious situation and authorities would have to take strong measures to counter Covid 19. The minister also suggested that ‘Triple Lockdown’ might be exerted to Kochi. Mentioning that the city’s condition is not at all encouraging, Minister said that the city needs more stringent measures in order to stay safe.
Earlier the district administration had maintained that the district would be divided into clusters according to the presence of Covid. Reportedly, the clusters would face tight measures from authorities. The move from the district administration is aimed at hampering the spread of Covid, without affecting the lives of the public in the district. It is into these clusters that triple lockdown would be introduced. Last day, the Ernakulam District hospital’s wards were closed down, as the presence of a Covid patient was detected.
