Mammootty – Manju Warrier starrer The Priest opened to packed houses yesterday. The movie, despite its 50% occupancy, has managed to score some bumper numbers on its release day. As per the figures released by the page Kerala Producers, this Jofin T Chacko directorial has collected a gross figure of INR 2.05 Cr from 1205 shows. However, the movie is placed second to Vijay starrer Master, which had collected INR 2.17 Cr from 1308 shows on its opening day from Kerala.

With a net figure of INR 1.62 Crores and a share of INR 97 Lakhs, The Priest has surely lifted the spirits of the industry. The official figures from producer Anto Joseph are yet to reach the public. He however maintained that the business which The Priest did on its opening day, was much better than many movies during the pre – covid days.
