In a big development, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) filed a chargesheet on May 27, in the drugs-on-cruise case and gave a clean chit to Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan.
Aryan was arrested by the NCB On October 3, along with seven others in connection with a drugs raid carried out on a Mumbai-Goa cruise. He was out on bail after 26 days.
Sanjay Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General (Operations), NCB said in a statement, “SIT carried out its investigation in an objective manner. The touchstone of the principle of proof beyond reasonable doubt has been applied. Based on the investigation carried out by SIT, a complaint against 14 persons under various sections of the NDPS Act is being filed. Complaints against the remaining six persons are not being filed due to a lack of evidence.”
Aryan was booked for attempting consumption of drugs under section 27 and attempting an offence under section 8 (c) (possession), section 28 (abetment) and section 29 (conspiracy).
NCB said Aryan Khan, Avin Shahu, Gopalji Anand, Samir Saighan, Bhaskar Aroda, Manav Singhal were given clean chit due to lack of evidence.
