Jake C. Thomas said the governor is unfit to be in the position if he is open to external pressures. Jake C Thomas said that the Supreme Court said that there was no error in the appointment and re-appointment of the 60-year-old.
The governor had earlier admitted that the appointment of the current VC was due to external pressure. The appointment was canceled by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court held that the appointment was not valid if the Governor had succumbed to external pressure.
A governor is unfit to be in that position if he succumbs to external pressures. Jake C. Thomas said that the governor has said that he is sympathetic to the needs of the government.
Jake C. Thomas added that in order to respond in detail, the full details of the two court judgments should come out and the Supreme Court is considering the issues regarding the governor’s powers.

The Chief Minister himself came and said that Kannur is his country. Minister of Higher Education has been appointed. Whether the Chief Minister should remain in power is a moral issue.

Meanwhile, A. According to the legal advice of Dr. Minister R Bindu explained that he had recommended re-appointment to Gopinath Ravindran.
The decision on the recommendation is taken by the Governor who is also the Chancellor. The minister added that the appointment of VC is at the discretion of the governor and he can respond further after studying the verdict.
