Well, this must be exciting news for the lovers of mass films. It was four years ago, which the Megastar movie ‘Kasaba’ hit theatres. Though created quite a lot of controversy over some of the dialogues, the movie is regarded as one of the few projects in the last decade that managed to create an impact among the mass audiences, despite its average performance in theatres. Now, makers of ‘Kasaba’ hinted that they might come up with a sequel to the project. Director Nithin Ranji Panicker and producer Joby George are reportedly planning a sequel to ‘Kasaba’.
If the words of Joby George are to taken into account, ‘Kasaba’ and the character of Rajan Zachariah might make a comeback. That said, we are yet to get a concrete response from either of them. The controversies that surrounded the project haven’t left the stage, as debates are still active in filmy corners, whether movies should glorify misogynistic dialogues or not. Rajan Zachariah and his dialogues found much takers among the masses, however were subject to heavy criticisms from within the industry; Parvathy Thiruvoth, when pointed out to the misogynistic dialogues in the movie, had to face the irk of social media.
