Oxford Dictionaries has chosen ‘Aadhaar’ as the Hindi word of 2017, owing to the huge popularity, which the word has gained these days. Amongst the contenders for Hindi word of the year choice, Aadhaar competed against the likes of ‘Mitron’, ‘Notebandi’, Gau Rakshak’ and to name the rest. However, during the course of being chosen by Oxford Dictionaries, ‘Aadhaar’ has gone past the rest by a huge margin.
The announcement was made during the session, Oxford Dictionaries Hindi Word of the Year, during the ongoing Jaipur Literature Festival.
