Actress Aswathy Babu and her husband Noufal were arrested within days of their marriage. The arrest was made on a complaint that a mother and her son, natives of Nayarambalam, broke into their house and physically assaulted them. They were arrested by Njarakkal Police, Kochi.
They have been charged with housebreaking, public indecency and assault with a weapon.
Aswathy Babu had earlier made headlines by revealing that she used drugs and sought treatment to quit.
Aswathy, who came to Kochi at the age of sixteen with her boyfriend, was cheated and involved in many anti-social transactions. She had openly said that the friend who had promised her marriage, abused her and earned money by handing her over to others.
Aswathi, a native of Thiruvananthapuram Thumpa Arattuvazhi, was also earlier arrested in Dubai in a drug case.
