The Executive Committee of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) will take place today. The Executive Committee will discuss matters pertaining to the latest developments in the film industry on the wake of Covid. This is the first time that AMMA Executive meeting is taking place, which was postponed and rescheduled several times in the months of May and June. AMMA President Mohanlal, who is in Chennai right now, will attend the meeting via video conferencing.
The meeting will discuss several matters, including the demand raised by the Film Producers Association regarding the remuneration cut. As was demanded by the Producers’ Association, film stars should have to cut their remuneration, by at least half of what they take now. The meeting will also discuss the future of Malayalam cinema, during the post – Covid times. Though the Producers’ Association has announced a ban on the start of new projects, several film makers in the state have come forward challenging the stance of producers.
In line with the young brigades of the industry, even biggies too have announced their projects. Mohanlal – Jeethu Joseph combo’s ‘Drishyam 2’ is the most exciting one, which is scheduled to start shooting from August 17th onwards. Another important area, which the AMMA Executive will discuss, is about the presence of mafia and fake casting agents in the industry. Though several organizations have condemns the case of blackmailing actress Shamna, AMMA however hasn’t produced any official statement regarding the same. Today’s Executive Meeting is expected to issue an official statement regarding the issue.
