Anchal Circle Inspector Sudheer has received flaks from the department over making lapses in the investigation of the Anchal Uthra murder case.Kollam Rural SP has handed over a detailed report regarding this to the DGP. Earlier, during the initial stages of the investigation, Uthra’s family members had complained that CI Sudheer was not handling the case in a proper manner. It was also reported that other police officials, including Sub Inspector, who investigated the case, had maintained a proper investigation strategy, which the CI hasn’t followed.
Despite the suspicious nature of Uthra’s death, CI Sudheer however proceeded with cremation. This has invited criticisms from several corners including that of Women’s Commission. Even though Uthra’s family had registered a case regarding the death of Uthra on May 7th, police hasn’t initiated proper procedures. Following this, Uthra’s family was heading to file one more on 13th, again resulting in no action. Finally, on May 19th, family members approached Rural SP Harisankar, after which the case gained momentum. Meanwhile, police continues questioning Uthra’s husband Sooraj and family members. More reports are expected to hit media soon in the coming days.
