Actress Anupama Parameswaran has clarified her reasons for staying away from Malayalam cinema after Premam. In an interview with the Times of India, the actor opened his mind. Anupama says that as soon as the interviews related to love came out, some people branded her as arrogant.
“I consider it a great privilege to be able to act in love. And that single picture is the reason I’ve been here so far today. If anyone knows Anupama today, it is through the character of Mary. Alphonse’s son came like an angel and changed my life. That’s why I named my house Love. Despite these Kovid issues, it was amazing that people celebrated the fifth anniversary of the film. After Premath, I did about thirteen films in different languages.
But in the last five years, Anupama has acted in very few Malayalam films. Anupama’s latest Malayalam movie is Ashok from Maniyara produced by Dulquar. When asked about this, the actress responded as follows.
“After the release of Premath, I was attacked a lot on social media. I was called arrogant and arrogant. I had given a lot of interviews related to the promotion of the film. Many people have told me that this movie has nothing to do with it. To make the most of the opportunities available. I am a girl born into an ordinary family in the Thrissur district. But after the movie came out, people started making fun of me. I’ve only been on screen for a while and that was the reason for the jokes. Many said that the interviews I gave were for my growth. That hurt me a lot. That is why I stayed away from the Malayalam cinema. I turned down some opportunities that came my way. Meanwhile, an opportunity came from the Telugu cinema. Some said I had no acting, only boasting. It was taken as a challenge. Began to learn new languages. That’s how I got more Telugu movies ” – says Anupama.
