Minister of Electricity, MM Mani has lashed out against those who criticize the Athirappilly Hydro Electricity project. The veteran commented that he heard some harsh comments from some corners, most of which lack authenticity. Hitting out against the opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and BJP leadership in the Kerala, MM Mani opined that the Athirappilly project had already received consent from the Central Electricity Authority (India) and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Minister stated that the latest NOC given by the government to the KSEB, was nothing but just an approval given by the government to the KSEB to proceed with the project. Turning down all such allegations, the Minster also made it clear that the government is not going to back off from the project.
