A 47-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 75,000 in a case of threatening and sexually assaulting minors. Kattoor Nedupuraikkal Muhammad Ismail is the 1st Additional District Judge of Thrissur P.N. Vinod was convicted under the POCSO Act.
He molested children aged 12, 13 and four. The children were threatened by the police saying that they would be jailed if they spoke out.
The case was registered by Kaypamangalam police. The trial ended with the case of one of the four children. Other cases are under trial.
During the trial, the children revealed to the court that the accused often tried to give drugs to the children. Public Prosecutor Liji Madhu appeared for the prosecution.
